We're safe and sound in Laos

You may have heard of some bombs going off in Bankok and warnings issued for all the usual spots including Udon Thani...  we hadn't heard anything about it until Jen started to do some digging in response to a question from Kirstie about Thailand.  From what we've heard here (and from reading the enews), some Iranians blew themselves up trying to create bombs to take out some Israeli diplomats and later by evading police.  They've arrested three of them and one managed to escape the country before they caught her.  They are stressing that the targets weren't the usual tourist spots but rather the Israeli diplomats like in recent days in Georgia and India.  The bombs apparently came from the same location.  

Iran of course is denying any involvement but it'll be interesting to hear what the Iranians they caught fess up to.  The Thai's can be a bit brutal about public safety...  they fixed the drug problems up here in Nong Khai by dropping the drug dealers in the Mekong with cement shoes.  

We did Vietienne today and tomorrow were headed for Vang Vien.  More on Loas tomorrow or when we next get connected.
