Fish River Canyon

I'll let the pictures do the talking here.  Today was spent driving around the Fish River Canyon.  Its 200M years old and has been created more by tectonic plates (Africa and South America separating) than by erosion.  Judith, our Aussie geologist gave us a run down on how it must have been created.  We watched the sun go down over it and then retired back to the campsite for dinner (after having a nice swim in the pool).  Didn't even mind the warm beers as no ice box could withstand 2 days of that heat!
Another early start and a long drive.

Kudu! (The real one)

Fish River Canyon is a bit bigger down here!

They have a 85km hike down there but you need a doctor's permission to go.  It can get to 55 degrees CELCIUS down there (10 degrees warmer than up here - and we saw 40 at 7pm)

No kidding!

Sure is pretty though!

Good thing the wind wasn't strong here!

We made it!
